The Flamebuster2 coverall has the lowest shrinkage percentage within the oil and gas market. ROOTS Flamebuster2 passes the demanding EN ISO 13688: 2013 industrial laundry test. This test requires a shrinkage of less than 3% after five cycles of washing at 75°C and with a tunnel drying temperature set at 155°C.
Take into account that every other coverall in today’s oil and gas market has a maximum washing temperature of 60°C, followed by a drying temperature of 50°C.
The new Flamebuster2 fabric conforms to the demanding Oeko-tex Standard 100 certificate.
More safety
The product ranges of Flamebuster2 are divided into two categories:
The Flamebuster Basic product range, featuring a series of standards that already exceed all other offshore coveralls, including:
- Protection against heat and flame: EN ISO 11612: 2008 A1 B1 C2 D0 E0 F1
- Please note the unmatched high-protection levels on radiant heat (C2)
- Electrostatic properties: EN 1149-5: 2008
- Protection against electric arc: IEC 61482-2: 2009
- Test method IEC 61482-1-1 (open arc test)
- Protection against electric arc calorific rating ATPV 10.2cal/cm²
- Test method IEC 61482-1-1 (ATPV test); note that 10.2cal/cm² for a treated coverall is extremely high
‘All can do’ product range, which features all current required standards, such as:
- Protection against heat and flame: EN ISO 11612: 2008 A1 B1 C2 D0 E3 F1. Please note the unmatched high protection levels on radiant heat (C2) and molten metal (E3).
- Welding protection: EN ISO 11611:2007 Class 2; none of the other coveralls in the oil and gas market matches this highest welding standard – in fact most coveralls do not even have a welding standard
- Electrostatic properties: EN 1149-5: 2008
- Protection against electric arc: IEC 61482-2: 2009
- Test method IEC 61482-1-2 (box test) Class 1 (4 kA)
- Protection against electric arc calorific rating ATPV 10.2cal/cm²
- Test method IEC 61482-1-1 (ATPV test); note that 10.2cal/cm² for a treated coverall is extremely high.
- Protection against liquid chemicals: EN 13034: 2005 + A1: 2009 Type 6
- This fabric treatment results in better cleaning of heavily soiled coveralls (for example, oil-based mud contamination)
All Flamebuster 2 products are fully non-metallic. This is part of the commitment to protect the wearers against electric arc flash hazards.
