Case Study: Cargo Vapour Recovery (CVR) Solution for FSO Ailsa

Kemostål Process Technology (KPT) has been tasked with developing a cutting-edge cargo vapour recovery (CVR) system for Culzean Field Development FSO under an engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPC) awarded by MODEC.

The system is a complex compressor module in two levels with its own gas scrubbing and cooling system. It is supplied with its own auxiliary systems for lube and seal oil and a sophisticated PLC control system.

In operation, the supplied system will recover vapours from the FSO cargo tanks. The supplied unit becomes an integral part of the Culzean FSO, which will be permanently moored in the British North Sea for a foreseeable future.
