VWS Westgarth, part of Veolia Water Solutions and Technologies has been awarded a contract by Total E&P Angola in excess of US$25m for their Pazflor oil development in Block 17 deep offshore Angola.
The award is for the supply of a Sulphate Reduction Process (SRP) package of capacity 302,000 BPD. The specialist process utilises a membrane-based system that removes sulphates and other divalent ions from the injection sea water to prevent the formation of barium sulphate and strontium sulphate scale forming in the sub-sea injection piping system and in the reservoir itself.
The plant will be engineered in VWS Westgarth’s UK offices in Gloucester and in East Kilbride, where the company’s numbers have grown to more than 125 oil and gas industry dedicated staff.
