Salt Separation Services has recently been awarded a contract for the design, manufacture and commissioning of the potable water package for the ATP Cheviot project.
The equipment will be capable of producing 1.1m3/hr of potable water and 0.75m3/hr of demineralised water from seawater.
The contract with COSCO (Nantong) Shipyard, China, was awarded after a competitive tendering exercise.
This marks Salt Separation Services’ first ever export to China, and is the first package it has supplied for a new offshore installation, with all previous work in this sector having been retrofits for existing platforms.
The ATP Cheviot platform is a floating facility and will be installed offshore in the UK sector of the North Sea, east of the Shetland Isles.
