Benefits include lower solvent consumption and rapid temperature change.

Tired of using glass capillaries to determine the viscosity of liquids?

Do you think you need glass capillaries because compliance with ISO 3104 or ASTM D445 is your only option?

Highlights

  • Faster testing
  • Lower solvent and energy consumption
  • Rapid temperature changes and equilibration times
  • No glass parts
  • Simple filling and cleaning
  • A wide viscosity range and the ability to determine multiple parameters (dynamic viscosity, kinematic viscosity, and density) simultaneously.

SVM test methods ASTM D7042 and ISO 23581 are mentioned in many specifications as an alternative to the glass capillary methods ISO 3104 / ASTM D445. As the SVM series instruments have ASTM approved bias correction calculations included, the results obtained from an SVM will be equivalent.
