A major global energy company has appointed Glamal Engineering to supply custom-made pipes, fittings and flanges to two of its UK sites, in a contract worth over £1.5m.
Over the course of the three-year contract, Glamal will supply the company’s east coast refinery and north-east oil terminal with approximately 2,000t of bespoke pipes, fittings and flanges in an array of materials including carbon steel, stainless steel and alloy steel.
The contract is strategically important to Glamal, as it strives to consolidate its portfolio of high-profile blue chip clients, while establishing a presence in the Humber marketplace, which is the location of one of the supply sites.
Neil Pentland, managing director, Glamal Engineering, says: “To have secured the framework agreement with a major energy corporation is a fantastic achievement for the company. Establishing a profile along the east coast is a key priority for our business and the opportunity to demonstrate our ability to supply bespoke materials to this marketplace is exciting. The refinery is one of the most sophisticated in Europe and indeed one of the leading refineries in the world, and we are proud of our association with this site, as well as the company’s onshore terminal.
“This appointment consolidates our portfolio of major clients in the global power industry and is testament to our reputation for delivering exceptional standards of customer service and excellent value, as well as our commitment to supplying the highest quality materials.”
Glamal Engineering’s strength is built on its ability to stock and supply pipes, fittings and flanges in a range of materials including carbon, stainless, duplex, super duplex, nickel alloy, copper nickel, 6MO and chrome molybdenum steels. As a result, it has carved out a niche reputation for itself not only in the region but internationally.
