Mr. Raymond Lewis, director of business development for ROSEN USA, has celebrated his 60th year in the pipeline industry in 2011.
To commemorate such a momentous occasion, Mr. Lewis’ peers gathered together during the recent Pipeline Pigging and Integrity Management Conference for a surprise event that included the presenting of a lifetime achievement award, and an evening event celebrating Mr. Lewis’ contributions to the pipeline business during his career.
Mr. Lewis was instrumental in bringing the ROSEN Group’s in-line inspection technology to the US. During his time with an engineering firm in the 80s, he met Mr. Hermann Rosen, who had a technology that showed a lot of promise. And so began a friendship and business relationship that resulted in the successful independent operating company that ROSEN USA is today.
As a representative for ROSEN USA on many industry committees, Mr. Lewis has helped shaped many of the pipeline codes and regulations the industry adheres to today.
During his career, Mr. Lewis has dedicated a great deal of time mentoring young people in the industry, and when asked, he credits the successful careers of those he mentored as some of his greatest achievements.
Mr. Lewis shows no signs of slowing down, mind you. He is as active today at 84 as he was a decade ago. Mr. Lewis maintains a travel schedule that would exhaust the youngest of sales people.
