The Norwegian engineering company, FORCE Technology Norway AS, is set to assist Chinese companies working in Norwegian oil and gas, after signing an important contract with a large Chinese yard.
According to the cooperation contract, FORCE will assist the Chinese yard in its efforts to deliver jackets for offshore oil and gas platforms. FORCE, as the responsible engineering partner, will secure fulfillment of the strict quality demands set by the Norwegian and European oil and gas industry.
"The contract we have finalised with the Chiwan yard in Shenzhen shall prove that with the appropriate knowhow and technology, and that it is feasible and possible to transport jacket structures from Far East to Europe at competitive quality and price," said FORCE Technologys AS saales manager, Bjarne T. Jensen.
The Chiwan yard is working to gain access to the Norwegian and European shelf with their jackets and steel structures. It is already a large supplier to the Asian oil industry, and is under pre-qualification by several Norwegian and European oil and gas companies.
"There are large investments coming up on the Norwegian shelf, and the capacity for the European production yards and sites are close to the maximum limits. The cooperation between our companies shall secure Europe access to production capacity, still meeting the very strict quality demands," said Jensen.
