We are pleased to announce our third project for 2014, as SweOffshore was chosen to provide the accommodation vessel to Siemens Wind Power for the offshore wind farm Butendiek. All preparations for the vessel took place in Esbjerg, Denmark, where Moby Corse once set sail for Harwich.
SweOffshore Maritime chairman of the board Anders Nordlund said: "It was a challenge for us to mobilise the vessel in such a short window of time, as was required by Siemens, and we were happy to deliver the vessel to Siemens Wind Power in Esbjerg on 3 October. This was achieved in close cooperation with Siemens Wind Power, with all parties finding good solutions and showing flexibility."
Butendiek offshore wind farm will consist of 80 3.6MW Siemens wind turbines with a total output of 288MW. The park will be able to provide CO2-free electricity to meet the needs of 370,000 households annually.
