The Harris Pye Group has announced that it has secured its first order for the design, supply, installation and commissioning of its own complete boiler system.
The project is for a major-end user and involves converting two existing MHI roof-fired boilers from normal HFO (Heavy Fuel Oil) burning to dual fuel; including full re-tubing and dual fuel (field gas and MDO) conversion equipment.
Harris Pye – a high-profile FPSO conversion company and one of the world’s leading specialists in the repair of marine and industrial boilers – will also be supplying, installing and commissioning the automatic combustion control (ACC) and burner management system (BMS), as well as skids for field gas, MDO and atomising steam.
"Being able to offer complete systems is something that has been within Harris Pye’s capabilities for some years. Many of our clients strongly requested that we add the turnkey provision of design, supply, install and commission to our portfolio. This turnkey option has real appeal to clients such as SBM, MODEC and Saipem," said Harris Pye Singapore managing director John Kinman.
"There are only a limited number of companies which can offer this technology and equipment to the market, let alone offer the turnkey possibility. Harris Pye is already well established in the marine, offshore oil and gas and onshore industrial sectors; it’ll give us a considerable competitive advantage in all those industries."
Harris Pye operates globally on a 24/7 basis and with 19 offices worldwide, offers full ship repair services and in situ repair, upgrade and conversion of rigs, semi-submersibles, trading tankers, FSU, FSO, FPSO and FSRU units. The company has experienced dramatic growth and expansion over the last decade, with a turnover increase in excess of 60% in the last five years alone.
