G.C. Maritime has announced a new cooperation with Korean lifeboat manufacturer DSB (Dae Sung) Engineering.
Formerly, owners of DSB lifeboats had to schedule service by contacting the manufacturer in Korea. G.C. Maritime is pleased to be one of the few US companies offering authorized service for DSB lifeboats, including annual and five-year inspections, load testing and repairs.
Soon, G.C. Maritime will be able to accommodate customers even further by maintaining an inventory of frequently requested spare parts, thus reducing waiting times for shipment from the DSB factory.
DSB Engineering is a Korean company with a manufacturing facility in the port city of Jiangyin, China. DSB produces SOLAS-approved, totally enclosed lifeboats, freefall lifeboats, pivoting gravity luffing arm davits and hydraulic gravity type davits.
DSB first entered the lifeboat manufacturing business around 15 years ago. Over time, its products have been accepted by major drilling and shipping companies. DSB-built lifeboats are now found on rigs and drill ships in the Gulf of Mexico and worldwide.
G.C. Maritime provides offshore operators and shipping customers with the speediest possible service by operating service hubs in Los Angeles, Miami, New York, New Orleans, Vancouver, Nassau and its home base in Houston.
Since beginning business in 2003 by providing service on marine diesel engines, president Dieter Liebich, a master mariner and mechanical engineer, has grown the business to include inspections on lifeboats and davits, general ship repair, sale of spare parts and LSA equipment, crew training, service on marine and offshore cranes, and technical consultation.
