FoundOcean, a global leader in subsea and offshore grouting, today announced the opening of its new office in Bremen, Germany. Following exceptional growth in the last two years, the company is now expanding to maintain its presence in one of the key markets for the offshore wind industry.
"Germany’s offshore wind sector holds a great deal of potential for us as a business and we are already engaged in significant projects with German customers. It’s with this in mind that we are investing in the region by opening a local office which will be home to a FoundOcean business development manager and our visiting engineers," says Managing Director Jim Bell.
FoundOcean welcomes Carsten Michels as their new Bremen-based business development manager. He, along with the rest of the FoundOcean team, will be responsible for supporting the organisation’s renewable energy clients throughout Europe.
The recent €10m investment in FoundOcean from Ambienta SGR has enabled this expansion. Ambienta is the largest European private equity fund focused on high growth environmental companies. Ambienta invests in companies with strong technology expertise developed in traditional areas such as oil and gas, which can be effectively transferred to the renewables and energy efficiency arena.
FoundOcean has also appointed Francis Donagher as the new oil and gas-focused business development manager, who will be based in Aberdeen, Scotland. This comes after the company’s offshore service base facility in Livingston, Scotland was expanded earlier this year in readiness to support the increase in offshore projects awarded for 2013 and beyond.
