Nigerian oil and gas engineering and fabrication company Aveon Offshore has been awarded a sub-contract from FMC Technologies Nigeria for the fabrication of subsea structures for the Egina field, offshore Nigeria.
FMC Technologies was earlier awarded the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) contract for the Egina Field Subsea Production Systems by Total Upstream Nigeria.
The Aveon Offshore contract is for the provision of more than 5,000t of subsea structures.
The project is being executed by Aveon Offshore at its 240,000m² fabrication yard in Rumuolumeni, near Port Harcourt. It is expected to generate over 1 million productive man hours of work.

First steel cutting occurred in December 2013 and the planned load out and sail away of the subsea structures is scheduled progressively from the second half of 2015.
