Zenatek specialises in creating innovative ICT solutions to enhance work and improve security.

The company successfully works in software architecture, set-up for transmitting data and signs, collaborative circles and high-level management systems for offshore and forwarding operations.

Offshore cargo security

The Zenatek Tracking System (ZTS) is a tracking, monitoring and reporting system that ensures products remain fit for purpose during transit. The solution provides security and confidence that goods will be delivered on time and in the correct condition.

ZTS traces goods in pallets, and conforms to air safety regulations for use in air transport. Pallets may be transported and tracked in containers; they may be transferred to train or truck, and then reloaded into containers based on any intermodal chain.

The Zenatek Tracking System (ZTS) monitors containers and assets while in transit around the world.
As well as location data, the ZTS service provides reliable information on the temperature of shipments along with their security status.
Land-based tracking would also see benefits for the petrochemical industry.
Tracking of a lorry from Germany to the UAE.
Full container of foodstuff from UAE to Mali.

The tracking system will provide accurate status reports throughout, monitoring for any damage, tampering, interference or deviations.

Location tracking of offshore containers

The ZTS uses GPS to locate the container. It transmits position information using global system for mobile (GSM) communication. Battery life is guaranteed for four months of service at one message a day. Wake-up intervals, the number of positions a message and the quantity of messages a day can all be remotely reconfigured, even after the shipment has left.

The system’s geo-fencing capabilities mean that if the trailer, container or pallet is placed or moved to another part of the port, the device will wake up and trigger the corresponding alarm.

The device also provides geo-coded, proof-of-delivery information to the client, who can be reassured that the shipment has reached its destination, and that there has been no unauthorised opening of a container’s doors or tampering with a pallet.

To provide an accurate geographical position for a monitored shipment at any point, the ZTS tracking device may use its internal GPS, which is compatible with the GPS and/or Glonass standards and is also Galileo-ready.

Alternatively, it can leverage information from mobile network cellular towers. The user can remotely configure all of the system’s communication parameters, even after a shipment has departed the loading point.

The service includes a container tracking device (ZTD), a one-way throwaway unit that does not need to be retrieved at its destination. This is possible due to an economical all comprehensive system supplied by Zenatek.

The device can be attached to container doors in minutes by different anchoring systems. No tools are needed for installation.

Alerts to mobile devices

Alerts are sent by the web-based system designed by Zenatek to the user’s mobile phone via email and SMS. The user can then log in with an encrypted password and user ID, and view the position of the container and the nature of the alert.

The system pinpoints the position of the tracking devices by using a multiple mapping solution via Zenatek’s web-based portal, which allows each user to find both real-time and all previous locations of the container or trailer.

When pallets or containers are stolen, particularly in difficult areas, or lost in ports due to shipment problems, it is important to be alerted if something happens to the forwarded goods in real-time, so immediate action can be taken with the transporter or authorities.

Temperature, stock and security monitoring

A real-time monitoring system keeps track of the location of shipments and monitors product temperature changes and the opening of container doors, recording any risks the product has been exposed to.

ZTS can store a container’s packing list, password-protected, in the web-based application, together with lading documents and health certificates. This enables the receiver to trace the shipment’s contents and route via any internet device.

The ZTS device will also trigger alarms when a reefer container’s internal temperature deviates from a predetermined level set by the client. It then alerts the user when the temperature returns to the required level.

Additionally, it will alert the user if flammable goods within a container are approaching the point of ignition, or if a container’s doors or a pallet’s seals are subjected to tampering. It will similarly alert the user if a container or pallet is turned on its side, capsized or involved in a destructive incident.

Real-time monitoring and status alerts

Real time status updates and event alerts allow users to respond quickly to changes and emergencies. ZTS offers prompt and effective damage control, resulting in time or temperature-sensitive shipments.

Users can also choose to provide receivers with access to ZTS web-based applications, so that they are equally informed of a shipment’s status and current location. They can change access to and frequency of status updates for any available information, which is contained within an encrypted data stream for full security, maximum confidentiality and protection.

Chokepoint detection

The ZTS enables identification of chokepoints in the supply chain and reduce safety stocks. Chokepoints are when containers or assets are ‘lost’ or misplaced in terminals that spend too much time in port, while safety stocks are the inventories that exceed normal needs and are used as a buffer against shipment delays.

Real-time information on what is happening with a shipment gives users control of the situation and the possibility of an effective and prompt reaction for damage control, such as re-shipping if necessary.

White Papers

  • The Future of Global Supply Chain Security

The tracking and tracing of containers and trailers is no longer a choice but a necessity. This applies to commercial supply chains, as well as to the transportation of military or diplomatic cargo.
