Leading subsea equipment and service company, Scan Tech UK, has launched a new HydroDigger, which is the world’s largest and most sophisticated mass flow excavator. Following successful operations in the North Sea, the unit was mobilised last week [on Friday, 16 December 2005] for upcoming contracts in the United States of America.
Commenting on the launch of the new system, Jeff Riddoch, Scan Tech UK’s Technical Director, said: “The new HydroDigger has attracted keen levels of interest from both existing and potential new clients. During its first contract in the Gulf of Mexico, the unit will be deployed on a major subsea pipeline project.”
He added: “Due to its increased power and high levels of efficiency, this unit will reduce project vessel time, resulting in significant cost savings for clients.”
The new Scan Tech UK HydroDigger was mobilised from the company’s Bridge of Don premises, where it was built, last Friday [Friday, 16 December 2005]. The remaining units in the Scan Tech UK HydroDigger fleet have also proven their popularity on an international scale over the past 12 months, tackling projects in the North Sea, the Mediterranean, the Gulf of Mexico and South East Asia.
