For three years Lebus has been supplying the Lebus grooving on the winches of the floating, dock and container cranes made by ZMPC, the Chinese world-market leader for onshore and offshore cranes. Those cranes are real giants made of steel, more than 100m high, able to lift and move up to 7,000t.
To handle these loads, the latest 7,000t floating crane by ZMPC has been equipped with 3,940m, 60mm thick steel rope. They are spooled in 11 layers on a Lebus boom hoist drum with a pitch circle diameter of 1.35m.
“This was a fantastic job for our engineers, challenging all of us in our know-how,” says Cris Seidenather, managing director of Lebus International Engineers.
Nevertheless, the challenge has been solved to the customer’s full satisfaction and now Lebus is working on follow-up-orders for floating cranes in China and for container cranes designed for the Europort Rotterdam and the Belgian port of Zeebrugge.
Represented by its partner Powertech China, Lebus International Engineers Germany will be taking part in the Bauma China on 23-27 November as well as the Offshore Fair OSEA in Singapore on 30 November – 3 December 2010.
