Heinen & Hopman, a leading specialist in the development and installation of climate control systems to the maritime, offshore and heavy industry sectors, has opened a new subsidiary in South Korea.
Heinen & Hopman Korea is located in southern South Korea, where most of the country’s offshore and marine activities are concentrated. Established in the heart of Busan, the main maritime centre, it is at the nexus between the major players in the marine and offshore industries. This ensures the company can compete both domestically in Korea and well as further afield in the Far East region.
"At Heinen & Hopman Korea we are ready to serve all customers with our competitive products and solutions," managing director William Jo comments.
"We offer the most high-tech quality products available on the market today, designed and manufactured to premium Dutch standards by Heinen & Hopman. Whatever your requirements are related to air conditioning, mechanical ventilation, central heating and air duct cleaning, Heinen & Hopman Korea has the answers."
"The main reason why we chose South Korea to open our new office is the strong shipbuilding tradition and potential of this East Asian nation," explains Joep Hopman, general manager of Heinen & Hopman Engineering in the Netherlands.
"Furthermore, we were able to find the right local partner (KMEC) with whom to enter the market. Yards and end users have too few alternatives in the Korean market for HVAC-R systems, which has not benefited innovation, flexibility or customer focus. We hope to change that."
The ultimate aim of the expansion is to create and maintain a lasting relationship with Korean yards and customers, and give end users the possibility to acquire Heinen & Hopman systems and devices for their projects via a local establishment. This will allow the market leader to build up a significant market share in Korea, which will be of great benefit for yards and consumers alike.
