Award-winning firm Blaze Manufacturing Solutions, which is headquartered in Laurencekirk, UK, has added eight members of staff to its workforce as it continues to secure contracts with major names in the industry.
The innovative firm, which was established in 2006, works with companies principally within the oil and gas sector. The company specialises in the design and supply of fire protection, fire and gas detection, control systems, loss prevention and consultancy services. The company is an accredited distributor for Xtralis; manufacturer of the market-leading VESDA Aspirated smoke detection systems.
Since 2012, Blaze has had a 500% growth in turnover to £19m this financial year.
To build on the continued success, the firm has appointed Russell Ingram as fire and safety manager; Davie McKelvie as technical authority, Iain Young as fire and safety lead designer, Alan Milne as contracts co-ordinator and Graham Travis as fire and safety estimator. Andy Kay, Andy van Vloten Martin and Ross Milne take on the role of fire and safety engineers.
The new additions to the Blaze team, who have over 150 years of industry experience between them, will be spread between the company’s Laurencekirk and Kemnay offices boosting the number of employees to 32 members of staff and 67 contractors.

Blaze, which is a finalist in the 2015 Elevator Awards in two categories, and in the Northern Star Business Awards in the Outstanding Contribution to the Energy Sector category, is fully resourced in-house to provide a complete engineering, procurement, installation, commissioning and maintenance package, managed by dedicated project managers who act as single points of contact for project lifecycle.
