Abascus is a leading provider of SharpEye and SafEye optical open-path (line-of-sight) flame and gas detection and monitoring systems, which offer unequalled quality and performance, covering a wide range of risks and applications.
Flame and gas detection and monitoring systems
SharpEye and SafEye flame and gas detection and monitoring systems can function effectively under extreme environmental interferences such as fog, rain and smog. They are used in a wide range of applications involving oil and gas products, including hydrocarbon fuels, hydraulic fluids, paints, solvents, aviation fuels, propane and hypergolic fuels (H2O2), hydrogen, hydrazine, hydrogen sulfide (H2S), aromatic compounds (BTX), silane, ammonia, and many more.
Our systems and solutions are used worldwide to help protect life and assets, and have become the leading safety equipment in oil and gas industries.
Explosion-proof flame detectors
SharpEye flame detectors operate in the harshest environmental conditions and offer a solution for virtually any application where there is a fire risk to personnel and high-value plant and capital equipment. The detectors are backed by extensive worldwide experience in the development, design and integration of UV / IR fire and explosion detection systems.
The systems include thousands of military (MIL-SPEC) UV / IR detectors, which are used in armored personnel carriers, tanks and naval vessels, in addition to industrial and commercial applications.
SharpEye flame detectors continue to meet the highest customer requirements for reliability, quality and operation under extremely tough environmental conditions. If you are looking for a flame detection solution with fast response times, the best area coverage, the highest immunity to false alarms and all the performance and safety approvals (UL, FM, ATEX, ATEX, CENELEC, CSA, and GOST R) you need, then look no further.
Optical flame detectors
The optical flame detector line has expanded to include the SharpEye 40/40 series of models, incorporating UV, IR, UV / IR, triple IR (IR3), multi-IR and CCTV flame detector technologies. These systems have demonstrated a unique level of reliability in terms of false alarms, durability and system failure, and have accumulated an excellent track record of performance in harsh industrial environments.
Long-distance fuel and gas-fire flame detectors
The SharpEye 40/40I triple IR (IR3) flame detector detects fuel and gas fires at long distances with the highest immunity to false alarms. The 40/40I IR3 can detect a 0.1m² gasoline pan fire at 215ft (65m) in less than five seconds.
The 40/40I is the most durable and weather-resistant flame detector currently on the market. Its new features include a heated window to eliminate condensation and icing; HART capabilities for digital communications; lower power requirements; and a compact, lighter design.
The detector has a multi-spectrum design for long-distance detection of hydrocarbons and hydrogen, sensitivity selection to ensure no zone crossover detection, and automatic and manual built-in-test (BIT) to ensure continued reliable operation.
Optical gas and vapor detectors for flammable and toxic gases
The SafEye range of line-of-sight optical gas detectors features a new generation of open-path IR and UV detection. Open-path spectroscopy offers unprecedented reliability in real-time monitoring of gaseous emissions over large areas, rendering it the accepted technology for industrial and environmental applications.
The systems monitor, detect, measure and indicate concentration levels of flammable and toxic gases, providing exceptional and unprecedented detection capability of gas / vapor concentrations ranging from as low as parts per million (ppm) levels to lower explosive limit (LEL) levels in a wide range of hazardous conditions and ambient air monitoring.
SafEye open-path gas detectors measure flammable hydrocarbons or toxic gases along an imaginary line-of-sight between a transmitter (source) and receiver (detector) using well-proven IR and UV absorption techniques. This type of detection system is the only one that measures the hazard, not just the amount of gas at a particular point.
Open-path line-of-sight gas detection system
The SafEye open-path line-of-sight gas detection system can monitor and transmit an alarm signal prior to the occurrence of fire or an explosion, identify the chemical family concerned and activate preventative systems. It can serve as a process control component in the chemical and petrochemical industries or as a safety system in industrial applications.
Its features include flash-type proven technology, the ability to detect a wide range of gases, fast response, cost-effective, large misalignment tolerance (±1°), no poisoning effect, specially designed to perform under extreme conditions, low maintenance, rugged IP66/67 stainless-steel housing, and a three-year warranty (ten-year for the source flash bulb).
Our products operate in the harshest environmental conditions and are self-contained, stand-alone devices designed for direct connection to control and alarm systems or automatic fire extinguishing systems.
