Wilhelmsen Marine Engineering (WME) has opened a new office in Busan, South Korea. It is an important step in the company’s strategy to increase its presence in Asia, starting in South Korea where six of the world’s largest shipbuilders are located.
From the new office, WME will be able to deliver even better service and response to its customers in South Korea. While the merchant shipbuilding market has stagnated, the offshore and special ship markets remain brisk. The opening of the new office will put WME in a strong position to take advantage of the business opportunities when the shipbuilding market picks up again.
Some 80 guests from shipyards, shipping lines, shipbuilding suppliers and sister companies have attended the opening ceremony.
