The technical paper ‘Understanding Oil-in-Water Instrument Specifications’ will be presented by Dr Dale F. Brost, principal development scientist for Turner Designs Hydrocarbon Instruments at the 21st Annual Produced Water Society Seminar taking place in Houston, TX, on 18-20 January 2011.
The technical paper attempts to clarify the definitions of analytical figures-of-merit, and also a discussion of how they should be interpreted. This paper suggests that standard reference materials be used to help characterize an instrument’s ability to monitor different types of oil, from condensate to heavy crude in produced water.
The seminar will emphasize the latest separation and measurement technology and an update on modifications and updates to the EPA and other regulatory requirements around the world. For more information on the seminar visit the Produced Water Society web page at www.producedwatersociety.com.
