Following the merger of DNV and GL, one leading pipeline integrity software solution will now incorporate both previous brands, DNV’s Synergi Pipeline and GL Noble Denton’s Uptime. The single next-generation system will be branded under the Synergi Pipeline name.
Pipeline integrity software
As the focus on pipeline safety increases, stricter regulations demand better solutions for integrity management. In addition to full compliance, operators see the benefits of software systems that improve performance, optimize maintenance, increase availability of their gas, liquid and slurry pipelines and extend the lifetime of ageing assets.
DNV GL’s pipeline integrity software, Synergi Pipeline, is a scalable company-wide risk and integrity management system. It enables safe and efficient pipeline operations, documents risk and gives users, including upper management, a clear overview of the integrity of distribution networks and offshore and onshore pipelines. The software provides a complete PDCA cycle (plan, do, check, act) and data management platform to allow proactive integrity and risk management, supporting international standards (e.g. ASME, DNV, BS).
Risk overview of pipeline systems
Synergi Pipeline will be available in ESRI ArcGIS and non-ESRI environments and will include a powerful analytic module for the creation of desired models, not limited to risk models. With Synergi Pipeline users can plan, execute and trace all activities during all stages of the integrity management process. The desktop tools provide advanced engineering analysis of inline inspections, high consequence area (HCA) identification and corrosion management.
"Synergi Pipeline has the most advanced off-the-shelf analysis tools with dynamic visual analysis of pipeline data," says Are Follesdal Tjonn, Managing Director, DNV GL – Software. "Our ambition at DNV GL is to fully support the customers in all stages of the integrity lifecycle with a robust system that enables seamless movement of data between the various lifecycle stages."
DNV GL pipeline experts are involved in developing many of the standards implemented in the software and have the expertise to help with services, such as risk assessment, MAOP verification, failure investigation, and evaluation of integrity management procedures.
The Uptime brand will be phased out this year, but the functionality will be continued. DNV GL brings together world-class pipeline software from both legacy organizations, and going forward users will benefit from the leading technological expertise and enhanced innovation capabilities provided by the combined organization.
