ORCA Offshore has been extensively involved in the Naval Architectural design and engineering of the Statoil Gina Krog jacket, previously known as the Dagny jacket.
The work has been performed as part of the Heerema Fabrication Group design team, and included:
- Transport motion analysis
- Jacket launch Design and analysis
- Upend Design and analysis
- Concept design of jacket ballast system
ORCA Offshore was involved in this project from FEED to detailed design.
Simulations of the transport launch and upending have been performed using MOSES from Bentley.
A major challenge of this unique jacket design was to assure that during all phases of construction, transport and installation the loads would be within the limits of the jacket, the launch barge and the crane vessel.
