From 9 September 2008, SBN’s company name changed from Schoeller-Bleckmann Nooter Apparatetechnik to Schoeller-Bleckmann Nitec, thus heralding the completion of the formal change of ownership.

For strategic reasons, the company’s former owner, the Nooter Corporation in St. Louis, MO., USA, decided on the sale of SBN to the Austrian Christof Group.

With headquarters in Graz, the Christof Group is one of the leading international players in Austrian industrial plant construction. The Christof Group boasts a current workforce of some 1,700 people and an annual turnover of around €275 million, 55% of which is generated abroad. The integration of SBN into the Christof Group now offers us the opportunity of finding and exploiting valuable synergies with the other companies within the Christof Group.

In the future, SBN will rank among the world’s leading manufacturers of high-pressure equipment for the nitrogen and petrochemical industries. Together with other Christof Group companies, we will concentrate on offering our products and services, while continuing to be a reliable partner for our customers.
