Cladtek, a global leader in Corrosion Resistant Alloy (CRA) Mechanically Lined Pipe (MLP) and weld overlay cladding manufacturer, announced the signing of a new collaboration agreement on August 6, 2024, in Tokyo, Japan, with Mitsui and Nippon Steel Corporation (NSC), to strengthen their presence in the Corrosion Resistant Alloy (CRA) Linepipe (LP) market and to better support the growing demands.
This strategic partnership aims to expand the companies’ reach in the CRA market and secure success in the supply of Mechanically Lined Pipe (MLP) and Carbon Steel (CS) pipe contracts in the region. The agreement sets a foundation for Cladtek, Mitsui, and NSC to jointly tackle technical challenges and streamline processes through standardisation of specifications, ensuring top-quality production and efficiency in operations.
Cladtek’s Ryan Chu, Group EVP & CFO, expressed his positive outlook, stating: “By partnering with Mitsui and NSC, we are not only enhancing our presence in the CRA LP market but also ensuring that we meet the evolving needs of our clients and the energy sector through standardisation and efficient solutions. This collaboration is in line with our commitment to innovation, operational excellence and maintaining leadership in the global CRA LP market.”
Following this event, Cladtek will engage Mitsui for Carbon Steel Pipe and Nickel Alloy inquiries; efforts will be made to finalise clarifications on materials such as mother bend pipe, backing pipes for Weld Overlay, and MLP processes.
