Armstrong Energy delivers customised components in a comprehensive range of materials for the offshore industry, manufacturing and supplying products with short lead-times.

Specialist thermoplastic materials for the oil and gas industry

Armstrong Energy’s extensive portfolio of cutting-edge materials includes Vesconite, a hard-wearing thermoplastic featuring internally lubricated polymers that combine to provide a very low level of coefficient of friction and excellent wear / corrosion resistance, even in harsh or contaminated environments.

Our subsidiary Vesconite Bearings and Bushes fabricates a wide range of parts using the material, which offers high dimensional stability and do not soften, delaminate, swell or seize on shaft mechanisms. They are also easy-to-install or remove and are non-conductive.

We possess a large selection of Orkot® thermoset composite bearing materials, which incorporate advanced polymer technologies and are characterised by outstanding structural integrity, friction resistance, and the ability to handle high load capacities.

Armstrong Energy provides a comprehensive catalogue of bespoke bearings and bushings, which can be manufactured from a range of materials such as Vesconite, Teflon® and Orkot® depending on the intended application.
Our robust pump vane solutions are fabricated according to customers’ own operational requirements using a variety of high-quality materials.
Armstrong Energy’s subsidiary Wine Tank Seals (WTS) manufactures both standard and bespoke tank seal systems from non-perishable, corrosion-resistant materials to ensure long service-life.

Armstrong Energy has readily available stocks of top-grade Orkot material TLMM, which is capable of prolonged deployment in freshwater and saltwater environments, making it ideal for marine industry applications. The material can be supplied in stock tubes covering shaft sizes ranging from 25mm-250mm.

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) materials for offshore equipment

Armstrong Energy’s catalogue of materials includes the popular polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) thermoplastic brand Teflon®, which is known for its outstanding dialectic properties, as well as chemical, UV and adhesion resistance.

Teflon is characterised by its resilience in low-temperature environments and excellent heat-resistance up to 327˚C, allowing it to be deployed in harsh locations for long periods without degradation.

We supply Teflon in rod, tubes and sheets, which can be cut to customers’ specifications.

We provide expanded or glass, carbon and bronze filled PTFE materials, which offer additional qualities such as improved durability, electrical conductivity or creep resistance for specialist applications.

Robust pump vanes and tank seals for offshore machinery

Armstrong Energy provides a large selection of pump vanes for use in industrial machinery such as pumps, fans and blower units.

Our units can be manufactured according to a sample or clients’ own drawings and specifications using a wide variety of materials depending on the intended application to achieve optimum results.

We regularly fabricate pump vanes from hard-wearing materials such as graphite-filled phenolic, graphite-filled PTFE, canvas and Vesconite, with others available on request.

Furthermore, Armstrong Energy offers a portfolio of standard and bespoke wine and brewery tank seal solutions through its subsidiary Wine Tank Seals (WTS) to address a wide range of operational needs.

Our non-perishable tank seals are made from either food-grade polymer or high-quality silicon to deliver effective resistance from corrosion and heat.

Electrical insulation solutions and seals for marine environments

Armstrong Energy supplies a wide variety of high-quality moulded and machined rubber seals and bushings components for use in electrical industrial equipment.

Our products are ideal for ensuring robust shock and wear protection in applications such as transformers, generators, circuit breakers, cable glands and switchgear systems.

We manufacture a range of high-performance insulating components, which are regularly used by power stations and transmission companies across Australia to deliver power to the wider marketplace.

Versatile corrosion inhibitors for subsea infrastructure

Armstrong Energy offers a line of specialised volatile corrosion inhibitor (VCI) packaging solutions that have been carefully designed to provide vital protection for a range of ferrous and non-ferrous metals.

We stock robust laminated barrier bags in single material and co-extruded variants that are virtually moisture-proof, while our FerroForm rigid plastic and FerroFlute corrugated plastic sheets are proven to provide resilient protection for vital components in harsh conditions.

The company’s versatile FerroFilm and Metalguard film solutions can be supplied in centrefolds, layflat tubes, rolls, sheets and bags for deployment in a wide range of industrial operations.

We provide heavy-duty C15 Rust Preventative systems, which effectively safeguard and lubricate the material they are applied to offer long-lasting protection against rust and corrosion.

These durable solutions withstand extreme temperatures between -40˚C to 260˚C, making them well-suited for extreme environments.

Customised bearings and bushes for marine applications

Armstrong Energy offers a wide variety of bearings and bushes that are fabricated in accordance with customers’ own specifications.

Our heavy-duty lathes meet both small and large scale orders, and parts can be supplied with short lead-times as a result of our extensive in-house stock of materials.

In addition to specialist materials such as Orkot, Vesconite and Teflon, we manufacture bespoke components made from:

  • Polyethylene
  • Polypropylene
  • PVC
  • Nylon
  • Turcite
  • Ferroform
  • Cogetherm®
  • Acetal
  • Peek
  • Ertalyte
  • Urethane
  • Phenolic-Bakelite®
  • Phenolic (CPT)
  • Composite (ACM)
  • Carbon and glass filled PTFE
  • Carbon and carbon fibre
  • Trunnion

Desiccants and moisture-indicating gels for offshore projects

Armstrong Energy offers a collection of high-performance desiccant systems for marine projects, which provide excellent absorption of moisture and humidity for activities requiring dry environments.

Our range of solutions includes activated alumina and molecular sieve systems, as well as innovative indicators such as silica gels and sorbead orange.

We are able to pack and supply desiccant solutions according to customers’ requirements.
