Pentair, global leader in industrial heat-tracing solutions has launched a new release of its TraceCalc Pro Windows desktop software. TraceCalc Pro offers installers and specifiers a user-friendly interface and step-by-step guide to find the best possible heat-tracing solution for their project.
With the new upgrade, users will have access to all the latest specifications and product updates across Pentair’s entire catalogue of heat-tracing solutions.
Available to download for free, TraceCalc Pro provides users with design calculations, such as pipe heat loss, number of circuits, electrical loads and maximum temperatures. It also automatically selects the right Raychem heating cable and components and offers recommendations for the most suitable control and monitoring systems.
As part of the latest upgrade, Pentair’s TraceCalc Pro software now also includes the new versions of Raychem’s XTV, HXTV and KTV self-regulating heating cables. These new heating cables are suitable for maximum intermittent exposure temperatures of up to 250°C / 482°F, whereas previous versions were limited to temperatures of up to 215°C / 420°F.
In addition, lower sheath temperature data for XTV and KTV heating cables have been incorporated, in compliance with the testing methodology of latest revision of the international standard IEEE 515. This simplifies the design and installation considerably on projects, in particular for applications with temperature class T3 (200°C) classification.
Furthermore, a new mineral insulated heating cable has been added to TraceCalc Pro. Pyrotenax XMI-L has a special corrugated construction, which lowers the sheath temperatures significantly. In addition, the standard alloy 825 mineral heating cables have been renamed to XMI-A.
