VG Offshore Containers International is proud to announce the recent achievement of becoming the first manufacturer in South East Asia to produce and certify Zone 2 offshore service containers to standard DNV 2.7-2 offshore service modules May 2013, the latest industry standard by DNV GL.
VG is one of the largest offshore container manufacturers in the region and has built offshore service modules since 2008. All units were either Hazardous Zone 1 or 2 rated and certified to DNV 2.7-2 standard. VG has a full in-house team to design and build offshore service modules to suit customer requirements and specifications. VG adopted the DNV 2.7-2 offshore service modules standard as one of the most stringent compliances in the industry.
VG technical director Venukanna Ganapathy said: "We always strive to provide high-quality, safe and globally recognised products to the ever-demanding oil and gas sector. This achievement is yet another milestone for us that proves the fact that we are committed to continually improving our expertise and enhancing our products capabilities in this industry.
"VG will continue our commitment in adhering to best practices and recognised standards only. The process of certifying our first unit to the revised standard of DNV 2.7-2 was not easy but with our experience and professional expertise, and of course with the guidance of DNV GL, we succeeded this within a short period of time. Now we will play our part to create awareness among our clients in terms of benefits of using certified temporary equipment."
The product certification to DNV 2.7-2: 2013 was approved by DNV GL principal engineer Mr James Steven and lead engineer Mr Madhu Desikan.
VG managing director Arvin Menon said: "It has been a great ride for all of us in the company since its establishment in 1994. There is no better way to celebrate the success of our 20th anniversary with such recognition of building the first DNV 2.7-2 module built to the latest standard and also to be the first company in South East Asia to build to this standard. This adds another milestone to a long list of other achievements that we have achieved in the past 20 years.
"We started the year 2014 with a mission in hand, to be able to build at least one module unit to the latest standard, but we were able to secure three projects and to have delivered all units within the stipulated time is a fantastic achievement."
