EMS Ship Supply has decided to certify the management system of its seven most important hubs of the group according to ISO 22000 standards. This process will be conducted by Bureau Veritas and finalised in the first half of 2011. It represents a huge step towards reliability in assuring health safety according to the highest requirements.

Until today, no ship supplier can claim that its processes have this level of consistency, which is translated into a risk-free management for its customers. There are only a handful of suppliers that have a full HACCP system in place in all their branches. Now, EMS is not only pioneer in the combined certification for quality and environment (ISO norms 9001 and 14001) of its worldwide branch offices (located in 18 countries) but they will also have the seven most important hubs in the group certified according to ISO 22000.

ISO standard 22000 maximises food safety and increases peace of mind by reducing the risks derived from food-related diseases. The auditing and certification process will be conducted in the seven most important hubs of the company: Algeciras (Spain), Dubai (UAE), Houston (Texas, US), Las Palmas (Spain), Rotterdam (Netherlands), Singapore and Tarragona (main hub for Spain and already certified since 2010).
