Aberdeen – based Reftrade UK specialises in the sale and lease of both new and used refrigerated containers and portable units. On the back of a successful year, the company today announces a fresh £500k investment towards increasing its already comprehensive fleet of new units, which, including zone-rated equipment, consumes less energy and less CO2 emissions, which further aids an already ambitious growth plan focused on the North Sea offshore market.

The company is a newly formed venture between Aberdeen-founded Abcool and Dutch refrigeration firm Reftrade, which under the new partnership will see Abcool trading as Reftrade UK.

Managing director Greg Spence will be at the helm of Reftrade UK, driving North Sea growth plans, with the aim of increasing turnover from £480,000 to £1,250,000 in the next three years and staff numbers in Aberdeen are predicted to rise from two to six in the same time period.

Mr Spence said, "We aim to achieve our financial projections by focusing on three main growth areas: offshore rental of refrigerated containers, project managed builds of bespoke zone 1 and 2 explosion-proof containers, and sale of 10ft, 20ft or bespoke refrigeration units.

"Joining forces with the Reftrade Group means that we not only have fresh investment to help drive UK growth plans, but have also expanded our capability to supply the global market."

Reftrade UK offers dedicated refrigeration facilities that exceed both British and European safety standards for the offshore and onshore markets. Reftrade UK is the perfect solution for all temporary or permanent cold storage needs.

Reftrade UK is the latest expansion for the Reftrade group, which also has offices in The Netherlands, France, Spain and agents in Africa, ensuring the company is well placed to service the global market.
