Telcom & Data designs, supplies and installs emergency communications systems, including hazardous-area telephones, emergency evacuation systems, and intercoms systems for petrochemical, offshore, and marine use.
Telcom & Data has formed partnering agreements with Cooper Industries and Guardian Telecom to deliver mission-critical emergency communication systems.
Offshore drilling and ocean vessel evacuation systems
Offshore drilling platforms and ocean vessels require specialised weather-proof telephones, emergency notification systems and intercoms that can withstand the elements of both seawater and freezing temperatures. Harsh marine conditions make it even more important that emergency evacuation and notification products are built to provide safety and security to personnel when needed.
Telcom & Data recommends the Cooper Notification line of MEDC products, designed for harsh environmental conditions and where there is a risk of explosion due to the presence of flammable atmospheres both offshore and onshore. Cooper MEDC meets the demanding standards of a multitude of industries, including oil, gas, petrochemical, and marine.
Cooper MEDC marine alloy products include horns, beacon strobes, loudspeakers and pull stations, and have been developed in close collaboration with customers to deliver the best combination of performance and safety.
Explosion-proof emergency sounder horns
Cooper MEDC explosion-proof emergency sounder horns are lightweight, flameproof, and weatherproof to withstand the extreme conditions on both offshore and onshore oil, gas and petrochemical applications.
The DB1P and DB1 HP can be switched between two selectable tones, and are particularly suited for loud environments.
Intercom systems for petrochemical and marine industries
Guardian Telecom manufactures industrial Page/Talk intercom systems that provide a common-talk communication system designed for offshore oil rigs and ocean vessels. Providing communications between drill operators and rig personnel, our rig intercom systems are simple-to-use and versatile, include one or five talk lines so individuals can be paged from any station, and are built to withstand the harsh effects of the environment.
A more feature-rich system comprises a central controller or intercom server and various outstations, with digital architecture to link the stations with the intercom server. Communication end points include explosion-proof speakers and desk stations.
Weather-resistant, hazardous-area telephones
Guardian Telecom hazardous area industrial telephones are certified for safe operation in hazardous areas, including Class I, II and III environments. The ATEX and IEC-approved telephones are tough and weather resistant up to IP66 with an operating temperature of -22°F to +140°F.
Guardian’s hazardous area phones go further by offering a full range of phone features at the gloved touch of a button and are designed for locations in which fire or explosion hazards may exist due to flammable gases or vapours, combustible dust, flammable liquids, or easily-ignitable flyings or fibres.
