Leading manufacturer of professional communication systems for safety on land, sea and air Jotron has announced the launch of its floating multi-functional Tron TR30 GMDSS VHF handheld radio. The Tron TR30 is the only GMDSS-approved handheld radio in production that floats without a buoyancy cover. The radio will debut at the SMM exhibition in Hamburg from 9 to 12 September.

"We are delighted to add the Tron TR30 GMDSS radio to the Jotron product portfolio", says Tor Martin Roed, Director Maritime & Energy Division Jotron. "Its additional features, switching from general to emergency modes automatically, dependent on fitted battery, shows Jotron’s commitment to innovate and enhance GMDSS products".

Tron TR30 GMDSS handheld VHF radio meets all the requirements of the IMO for carriage on SOLAS vessels. Tron TR30 has the ultimate functional design. Every detail has been developed based on user functionality, both in an emergency situation and in general on board communications.

The Tron TR30 GMDSS radio switches automatically between international VHF channels according to GMDSS and international maritime duplex channels depending on which battery, rechargeable or sealed lithium, is connected. This unique and innovating feature makes the Tron TR30 GMDSS a "two-in-one-radio."

Watertight facility socket, large LCD display and intuitive and clear operation keys make the Tron TR30 GMDSS radio functional and flexible. Dual slot battery charger with LED status indication completes the package.
