Parker Hannifin Corporation, the global leader in motion and control technologies, is introducing its IWOCS (intervention and workover control system) open water and rig package at the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) in Houston, Texas.

Available from Parker’s Energy Products Division, the new IWOCS package can be used for well completions, subsea tree installations, workovers, and abandonment of obsolete wells.

The IWOCS package includes: IWOCS reel with hydraulic umbilical; hydraulic power unit (HPU); gang box/work van container; cargo basket; hydraulic guillotine and clamp weight; umbilical clamps; tote tank of fluid; and particle counting scope kit. The Energy Products Division also provides certified personnel to operate the system offshore.

Parker’s IWOCS umbilicals are designed to safely provide direct hydraulic control to the tree-running tool (TRT) and other subsea tree functions. The umbilical is universally adaptable to all third-party connections where hydraulic power is needed. It contains 20 lines with a maximum working pressure of 12,500psi.

The hose within the umbilical is Parker methanol-washed aramid fiber hose. The HPU system is a compact 2-piece design, has flushing capabilities and is rated for 15,000 psi maximum working pressure. It is compatible with water-glycol-based fluids for any control system and is equipped with a state-of-the-art emergency shutdown system (ESD).

The energy products division of Parker Hannifin provides innovative project solutions (marine hose, power cables, mooring lines, high-pressure hose, custom umbilicals, surveying, metrology, and service) with customer-focused project management for global energy recovery. The Division is based in Stafford, Texas.

With annual sales of $10bn in fiscal year 2010, Parker Hannifin is the world’s leading diversified manufacturer of motion and control technologies and systems, providing precision-engineered solutions for a wide variety of mobile, industrial and aerospace markets.

The company employs approximately 55,000 people in 46 countries around the world. Parker has increased its annual dividends paid to shareholders for 54 consecutive years, among the top five longest-running dividend-increase records in the S&P 500 index.
