Metreel is one of the leading manufacturers of drag chains within the oil and gas industry. MET-TRAK™ drag chains provide support and protection for the safe conveyance of cables and hoses for skid bases, jack-up installations, vessels / drill ships, top drives, cranes and hoists, and handling systems for both upstream and downstream projects.
Each system is customised to meet the individual requirements of the user and it is then tested and installed using state-of-the-art software and manufacturing methods.
In addition, we offer the delivery of pre-installed, fully-assembled ‘plug and play’ cable and hose systems, which have already been supplied worldwide to offshore locations within China, Korea, Singapore, Azerbaijan, France, Norway, Canada and the USA.

Upgrading, re-engineering and onsite reactivation of offshore equipment and systems
Metreel is proficient in both new and old systems. We provide after-market service and onsite reactivation. We also upgrade and re-engineer systems to ensure that that current requirements are met.
With the growing trend of increasing travel length, rather than installing an entirely new system, we regularly re-engineer existing systems in order to meet the necessary requirements.
Upgrading machinery can sometimes result in extra services being required, such as further electrical cables or pipes / hoses, in order for the new systems to function at full capacity.
Metreel can re-engineer existing systems, sometimes without even disconnecting any services, which means that the machinery remains operational and downtime is minimised.
Reeling drums, outreach booms and festoon systems
Our Met-Boom outreach boom system was designed as an option for carrying cables and hoses offshore as an alternative to the standard drag chains and festoons, particularly in locations where space is at a premium.
In addition, our Beam-Rider festoon system is an extra heavy-duty cable / hose trolley solution that has been designed to meet the robust requirements needed for offshore applications, including the transportation of cables and hoses to feed skid bases, jack-up installations, vessels / drill ships and cranes.
Our standard reeling drums are of a proven standard, which has allowed us to develop our range for the offshore industry. Our offshore reeling drums are suitable for reeling cables and hoses and are available in a range of finishes, including the option of stainless-steel, in order to meet the demands of the environment they will operate in.
