The Asian Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Engineering Exhibition, OGA 2013, opened yesterday with a ceremony sponsored by Global Marine Systems and their joint venture partner SB Submarine Systems. The ceremony was officiated by Petronas Chairman Yang Berbahagia Tan Sri Sidek Hassan.
OGA 2013, taking place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is the largest ever. It features participation from 2,000 oil and gas companies from more than 50 countries.
"I extend my deepest gratitude to all our exhibitors for your belief in the OGA brand, and for your unfailing support over the years. And to new exhibitors I wish you a great show indeed. I also thank all OGA 2013 sponsors, and specifically our opening ceremony sponsors Global Marine and SBSS," stated MES chairman Tan Sri Asmat Kamaluddin at the OGA official opening ceremony.
Global Marine’s CEO Ian Douglas was on hand to greet Petronas chairman Tan Sri Sidek Hassan on his arrival at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre: "It is with great enthusiasm that Global Marine supports OGA 2013, and we were extremely proud to have welcomed so many oil and gas industry leaders to the Opening Ceremony event."
OGA continues through Friday, 7 June. The event is expected to attract over 22,000 trade visitors.
