ELA Container, the mobile room systems specialist from Haren in Germany, has taken the first steps to capturing markets in the Middle East. The first room systems are now being delivered following the establishment of new company ELA Container Middle East.
ELA started in Qatar with a comprehensive range of room modules for use onshore and offshore. In addition to the ELA premium container, the range also includes offshore living quarters, galleys, canteens, kitchens, sanitation, offices, residential and meeting containers and even complete lodgings and construction sites.
ELA regional manager Middle East Frank ter Haak and assistant manager in business development Feras Abu Samaan say that due to the flurry of construction activities, there is a great need for mobile room systems in the Middle East.
"Particularly in the offshore field, we are seeing a large market that could benefit from our experience and products," adds ter Haak. The Middle East is a typical gas and oil-producing region with corresponding needs for mobile premises for the oil and gas, offshore wind and pipeline industries.
Offshore containers are mostly used on offshore platforms, ships, rigs and pontoons. They enable extra sleeping accommodation and dining areas to be provided quickly when additional personnel are needed. ELA offshore containers must meet high safety requirements and specifications. Before deployment, each container is inspected by Germanischer Lloyd and receives DNV 2.7-1/ EN12079-1 offshore approval.
"As we can provide a solution for all room dimensions with our 20ft ISO-standard containers, all ELA products also have the CSC certificate. Therefore, every container can be transported all over the world under very reasonable terms," says ter Haak.
