Malaysia-based Asian Offshore Services (AOS) has captured an exclusive project from Jack-Up Barge in the Netherlands to build a large fleet of 100 modular living quarters cabins that will be used to provide additional temporary living quarters (TLQ) onboard a fleet of jackup vessels.

Jack-Up Barge is one of the world’s leading suppliers of self-elevating platforms for the oil and gas energy sector, offshore wind farms and heavy marine civil construction project support.

The project includes the supply of 70 four/eight-man sleeper cabins and 30 general purpose support cabins, all of which will be ABS approved and designed to fulfill Zone 2 Hazardous Area requirements. The modules are also designed to be linkable and stackable, and will provide the option of an additional 560 beds in any configuration required by the client.

This new fleet of purpose-built cabins now means that Jack-Up Barge will become a market-leader in providing its fleet of vessels with this new high-spec/high-quality modular TLQ, which will allow them to quickly phase out their dependency on older-style and lower spec rental cabins.

"AOS was very pleased to win this exclusive contract to build 100 cabin modules from Jack-Up Barge."

AOS managing director Faisal Siebel said: "AOS was very pleased to win this exclusive contract to build 100 cabin modules from Jack-Up Barge. This continues to prove that our company will continue its rapid growth plans and continue to be a market leader in designing and building bespoke living quarters and general purpose and E-house modules.

"The specification of these new TLQ modules is also an example of the continued improvements of operators, service and marine support companies and AOS’s efforts to look at ways of designing and building safer work places and living quarters for the offshore crews.

"We are also very optimistic that we will continue to build on our successful projects in 2014 and secure numerous other prestigious contracts for our company as part of our business strategy to continue the development of AOS into a major global specialist designer and fabricator supporting both the international and local Malaysian markets."
