J.S. Cock supplies complete valve and instrument packages for the offshore, shipping, hydropower, pharmaceutical and water industries.
About J.S. Cock
J.S. Cock has more than 118 years’ experience in supplying valves and related equipment worldwide.
J.S. Cock has a comprehensive stock of valves and instruments in Oslo, Bergen, and Arendal, Norway, with workshops for repair, assembling and testing of valves.
The company’s highly qualified personnel has extensive experience, solid knowledge in valves and process applications, and offers consulting, valve sizing and calculations services, as well as recommendations of selecting the best valve to suit the application.
The J.S. Cock corporate office in Oslo has more than 2,000m² in space with warehouse, service and testing facilities. The warehouse and sales office in Arendal stores a large variety of valves for the shipping industry.
In Bergen, the company stocks a comprehensive range of valves and actuators for the offshore industry, and offers a service and testing facility for valves weighing up to 7ts.
Severn Norway AS is also located in the Bergen facility and is a joint venture between J.S. Cock and Severn Glocon.
In 2015, Severn Norway won a frame agreement for supplying control valves, choke valves and spare parts to Statoil.
Control valves for the offshore industry
J.S. Cock supplies a full range of severe and standard service control valves.
All Severn Severe service control valves are engineered and manufactured according to the process conditions and special requirements provided by the client.
The company has more than 40 years of experience in retrofitting and modification of ‘problem valves’, which includes methanol and glycol (MEG) and water injection, severe service choke, pump minimum flow, compressor anti-surge and level control.
Safety relief valves
J.S. Cock has a full range of direct acting and pilot-operated safety relief valves, according to API and NORSOK.
The company is a small manufacturer that offers high-quality valves in a wide range of materials and short delivery times for shutdowns and modifications, as well as manual choke valves.
Pump minimum flow valves
Schroeder designs and manufactures automatic pump minimum flow valves and has continuously improved the products’ design and quality over the last 60 years.
Schroeder valves produce reliable, robust and cost-effective conventional control valve systems. The company’s pump minimum flow valve offers a high number of specially designed pressure let-down steps, to avoid cavity damage.
A unique automatic air release system protects centrifugal pumps in liquefied natural gas (LNG) and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) applications without expensive monitoring or interlocking.
Ball, gate and subsea valves
J.S Cock highlights modern engineering and high-production capacity with focus on quality assurance.
The company assembles top and side entry medium and high-pressure, rotary control and fully welded ball valves, in addition to double expanding and through conduit gate valves.
J.S Cock also produces a full range of subsea ball and gate valves.
Fire hydrant pressure-reducing valves
Safety Systems developed the Class-F fire hydrant pressure-reducing valves more than 30 years ago, and have delivered several thousand valves to the offshore industry in aluminum bronze, 6MO, duplex or titanium body materials according to NORSOK standards.
Safety Systems inlet flange connections are available in either 1.5in or 2in ANSI 150/300. In addition, the manufacturer supplies a standard outlet connection, in either 2.5in BS 336 instantaneous female coupling or screwed 2.5in BSP, which is made to suit internationally recommended adaptors. The maximum inlet pressure is 20.7bar(g) with an outlet pressure range between 4.1bar(g) and 8.3bar(g).
Transparent, reflex and magnetic-level gauges
Simco produces level gauges for the oil and gas industry in a wide range of materials, including carbon steel, stainless-steel, duplex, super duplex, hastelloy, titanium, 6MO and monel.
The company also supplies high-magnetic liquid level gauges with alarms, switches or analogue feedback.
Solaris LED illuminators for transparent liquid level gauges
In order to meet the market demand for low-weight, reduced cost, easy installation and long-life explosion-proof illumination for transparent liquid level gauges, J.S.Cock has developed a new-generation Solaris LED light system.
The solution does not only meet those demands, but it also offers full customisation with regards to module length, voltage and LED light colour. All external components are made of stainless-steel 316, which provides excellent corrosion resistance.
The system is easy to install, takes up minimal space, has a long operational lifetime and does not require any maintenance. The LED lights are moulded in a clear casting epoxy resin, which offers high IP-protection and can be used in explosive atmosphere environments. The system is module-based, and with in-house manufacturing takes place in Oslo.
