The SkoFlo valve operates on a simple and reliable principle of a given fluid flow rate will generate a consistent pressure drop across a known restriction. This pressure drop produces a net force on a piston, which is countered by a spring force.

A ceramic throttling point attached to the piston keeps the spring force equal to the pressure differential and thereby maintains a constant flow that is independent of external pressure fluctuation.
