The Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Ministry has announced the nations oil refineries and Shebelynka gas processing plant has reduced petrol production by 40.1% or 866,200t in January-September 2012.
Diesel production fell by 45.6% or 915,200t to 1.092 million tonnes during the first nine months of the year, while fuel oil production slipped by 62% or 955,000 tonnes to 584,200 tonnes.
The report notes that the amount of raw materials processed by the country’s oil refineries has fallen by 1.9 times or 3.2 million tonnes to 3.591 million tonnes since the start of the year.
The decrease is also noted by a drop in the amount of resources delivered to the refineries, which fell by 42.9% or by 2.761 million tonnes to 3.668 million tonnes.
Supply of Ukrainian-produced oil rose by 20.1% or 315,700t to 1.886 million tonnes and oil supplies from Kazakhstan also gained by 298.8% or by 409,800t to 551,200t, however oil imports from Russia dropped by 4.8 times or by 2.779 million tonnes to 724,800t.
Shevbelynka gas processing plant’s supply of gas condensate dropped to 505,600t, which was 0.6% less compared to the first nine months of 2011.

Production at the TNK-BP owned Lysychansk oil refinery was stopped in March 2012 for an indefinite period of time due to the unprofitability of processing.
Ukrainian oil refineries have a total designed capacity of 50.3 million tonnes of oil per year.
The report notes that oil refining and gas processing plants produced 2.837 million tonnes of petrol in 2011 which was 8% less than in 2010.
Production of diesel fuel dropped by 21.4%, to 2.636 million tonnes and fuel oil production also fell by 11.6% to 2.03 million tonnes.
In 2010, petrol production dropped 8.7% when compared to 2009 to 3.084 million tonnes, diesel fuel production shrank by 2.8%, to 3.354 million tonnes, and fuel oil production dropped 4%, to 2.297 million tonnes.
