Colombian engineering and construction firm Tipiel has won a contract from the Consorcio Constructor Ductos del Sur to develop a new gas pipeline in Peru.
The front-end engineering design and detailed engineering design contract is valued under €50m. The pipeline will transport gas from the Camisea field to Southern Peru.
The Peruvian Government launched the 1,700km 32" gas pipeline project, which intends to enhance the country’s existing energy network.
It will also support the development of an energy node and petrochemical hub in Southern Peru. Tipiel’s offices in Bogota, Colombia will carry out the entire work.
Tipiel general manager Riccardo Nicoletti said: "This contract, which is related to one of the most important projects for the development of energy infrastructure in Peru, serves our objective to make Tipiel a leading engineering company outside Colombia as well."
Tipiel, established in 1975, has contributed to the design and construction of several projects associated to hydrocarbons in Colombia.
