Norwest Energy is currently flowing gas to surface after the successful hydraulic fracture stimulation of stage one of the Arrowsmith-2 well in the onshore Perth Basin in Australia.

The company is now performing the flow back and well testing phase of the Arrowsmith-2 evaluation programme.

Stage one of its programme, the High Cliff Sandstone target, unloaded water and gas with the percentage of water cut continually reducing, and a visible flare evident.

Measurements will start through the well test equipment on site, after the gas flow rates continue to improve to a sustained rate of flow.

The Arrowsmith-2 evaluation program is expected to take up to eight weeks, and the results will enable Norwest to determine the viability of the various target zones for future shale gas production throughout the field.

Partners in EP 413 are operator Norwest with 27.945%, AWE with 44.252% and India’s Bharat PetroResources with 27.803%.
