Coastal Energy Company has reported exploration results from its Bua Ban South wells in Thailand.
The Bua Ban South A-02 well confirmed 8 feet of net pay in the Lower Oligocene section with 17% porosity and was drilled to a depth of 8,275 feet.
The presence of an oil column was revealed at 1,800 feet.
Coastal Energy president and CEO Randy Bartley said the well penetrated the same reservoir as the A-01 well close to its downdip limit, which helped the company to delineate the size of the Oligocene discovery.
Bartley admitted, however, that his company was disappointed by the lack of hyrdocarbons at Bua Ban South A-03.
"It [A-03] was a higher risk prospect given its location outside of the main bounding fault," added Randy.
