The upstream sector reported 136 awarded contracts in January 2017. Operation and maintenance accounted for 65 percent of the awarded upstream contracts. There were contracts for the provision of semi-submersible and jack-up rigs; charters of platform supply vessels, diving support vessels, accommodation vessels, pipe laying supply vessels, and anchor handling tug supply vessels; provision of floating production, storage and offloading vessels; well intervention and power mechanical services; integrated drilling and well services including cementing and pumping, completion, drilling, and completion fluids; subsea services; drilling, workover, downhole, and well completion services; refurbishment and maintenance services for various equipment at fields; and riserless light well intervention services.
Contracts with multiple scopes, such as construction, design and engineering, installation, O&M, and procurement, accounted for 15 percent of the contracts awarded in the upstream sector in January 2017. There were contracts for Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation work for offshore field platforms, wellhead decks, jackets, and gas observation platforms; provision for essential drilling services including wireline logging, measurement and logging while drilling, downhole drilling, cementing, and mud logging services; supply of drilling fluids and solids control, drilling bits and reamers; provision of offshore access system for maintenance services at FPSO; mechanical hook-up and commissioning support services at fields; engineering, procurement and construction for subsea production systems including subsea template manifold systems, subsea wellheads, and vertical monobore subsea trees, production control systems, associated interventions and workover tooling; and installation, testing, and pre-commissioning services for jackets and decks, subsea pipelines and cables.
Design and engineering accounted for nearly eight percent of the awarded upstream contracts, with activities focused on 2D and 3D seismic data acquisition; vertical seismic profiling; 4D baseline surveys; subsea engineering services; conceptual and front end engineering and design studies associated with field development projects, and soil investigation services.
Procurement accounted for seven percent of the upstream awarded contracts, which included the supply of POS-GRIP Tersus Mudline equipment; surface wellheads; compressed air systems including smart air service compressors, service air dryers, control air compressors, and control air dryers; and hydraulic umbilicals and hoses for a wellhead control system.
