Energy industry consulting and engineering services provider Wood has entered into three major agreements with BP to provide engineering and project delivery services for the latter’s capital projects across the globe.

The contracts include a new MSA for EPCm services.

Two extensions have also been made to existing long-term frameworks for providing conceptual engineering and pre-FEED (Front End Engineering Design)/FEED engineering.

The newly signed EPCm agreement is set to last an initial three years, with the option to extend for a further four years.

The existing frameworks for conceptual engineering and pre-FEED/FEED engineering have been renewed for an additional three years each, ensuring continuity and sustained partnership.

Spanning all of bp's business units, these agreements will enable Wood to provide comprehensive support for bp's offshore and onshore assets within the upstream, midstream and downstream energy markets.

This move is indicative of the companies' long-standing and successful partnership, which was further solidified by a multi-region asset management agreement signed in September 2022.

The new frameworks aim to ensure efficient, predictable delivery for bp’s global projects, with Wood focusing on digitally enabled solutions.

A key emphasis will be on decarbonising assets, aligning with the industry's push for sustainability and lower carbon emissions.

Wood CEO Ken Gilmartin said: “We are delighted to enhance our partnership with bp, which continues to go from strength-to-strength.

“As a company we thrive in supporting our clients to deliver some of the most complex and challenging projects in the energy and materials markets and we look forward to working with bp to support the full life cycle of capital projects worldwide.”

In October, Wood secured an engineering services contract from Saudi Aramco for the southern and northern areas gas increments project in Saudi Arabia.

The project, aimed at boosting the country's natural gas production capacities, is expected to require one million engineering hours.
