Vallourec, a provider of tubular solutions, has secured a contract from TotalEnergies for the Kaminho deep-water project in Angola.

The contract entails the supply of nearly 5,000t of OCTG solutions and associated services.

The Kaminho project is situated 100km off Angola's coast in Block 20.

Vallourec supplies VAM connections and CLEANWELL technology, which offers a more environmentally friendly, dope-free solution, to the project.

The scope of the contract will also extend to VAM field service and tubular management services to ensure the inspection and preparation of tubes both before deployment and upon their return.

Manufacturing for the project will take place across Vallourec's facilities in France, Brazil and Indonesia.

The company has a history of collaboration with TotalEnergies, having previously supplied almost 5,000t of tubes and connections for exploration and appraisal campaigns in regions such as Namibia.

Vallourec chairman of the board of directors and CEO Philippe Guillemot said: “We are proud to support TotalEnergies in its developments and exploration projects. I would like to thank the Vallourec teams for their commitment.”

Last week, TotalEnergies awarded a contract to SLB's OneSubsea joint venture for the same Kaminho project.

This contract includes a 13-well subsea production system, along with the necessary equipment and services.

TotalEnergies, alongside partners Petronas and Sonangol, reached the FID for the Kaminho project in May, with an estimated cost of $6bn (€5.53bn).

The project, which encompasses the development of the Cameia and Golfinho fields, is targeting first oil production by 2028 and is expected to produce approximately 70,000 barrels per day.
