Vallourec has secured a contract from Brazil’s state-owned oil and gas company Petrobras for the supply of tubes and services for offshore wells.

Under the contract, Vallourec will be responsible for the supply of 1,800 tonnes of tubes equipped with advanced glass reinforced epoxy technology and CRA accessories, essential for offshore development wells, particularly in Brazil's Campos pre-salt basin.

The deal extends Vallourec's relationship with Petrobras, building on a three-year oil country tubular goods (OCTG) supply agreement signed in January 2023.

Vallourec's comprehensive service offering under the latest contract includes stock management, rig preparation, transportation and integrated field services, ensuring a full-service solution for Petrobras' operational needs.

The company plans to manufacture the products at its Barreiro plant in Minas Gerais, Brazil.

Vallourec CEO Philippe Guillemot said: “We are delighted to have won this new contract, which includes local content and the supply of high-technology solutions. This order demonstrates once again that our teams are fully committed to supporting our long-standing partner in its developments.

“Vallourec thus confirms its determination to strengthen its position as Petrobras' main OCTG supplier and trustworthy partner.”

Last month, Petrobras selected Seatrium to construct two floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) units, P-84 and P-85, for operations in the Santos Basin.

The P-84 and P-85 FPSOs are due to be deployed at the Atapu and Sépia fields, respectively.

P-84 and P-85 can each produce 225,000 barrels of oil per day and process ten million cubic metres of gas per day.
