Vallourec, a French company offering tubular solutions, has secured a contract extension from Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC).
The two-year extension, effective from January 2025 to January 2027, is for a contract signed in 2019 and initially valued at $900m (€842.12m).
Through the agreement, Vallourec will keep providing the whole line of tubes and connectors for both simple and intricate uses in onshore and offshore oil and gas sectors.
Along with the extension, the contract has been modified to add new services to the original scope of supply.
These services include local pipe coating and Vallourec's new digital solutions, such as Tallyvision, which is said to simplify installation procedures by offering traceability for every tube.
Furthermore, under the extension, Vallourec has obtained a fresh, sizeable order for the supply of 27,000 tonnes of tubes.
These items will be produced in Vallourec facilities in France, Brazil, China and Indonesia. Deliveries are expected to commence by the end of 2024.
Vallourec chairman of the board of directors and CEO Philippe Guillemot said: “The extension of our contract shows our customer’s trust and the added value they have received from this integrated tubes and services offering we have provided for the past four years as a reference supplier. Under this extension, we are further expanding our range of services.
“Our customer has also recognised the value and quality of this enhanced offering with its significant new order. I am proud of the high level of our operations in Abu Dhabi and the unfailing commitment of our teams to our long-standing partner.”
The announcement follows Vallourec's contract award from ExxonMobil for the supply of pipe for the Whiptail deepwater oil development offshore Guyana.
Most recently, Brazil’s Petrobras awarded Vallourec a contract to supply tubes and services for offshore development wells.
