UK-based TechnipFMC has signed a long-term framework agreement with Chevron Australia, a wholly owned subsidiary of US energy company Chevron, for the provision of subsea production systems.

Under the 20-year agreement, TechnipFMC may provide Subsea 2.0 configure-to-order subsea production systems for gas field developments off the north-west coast of Australia.

The Subsea 2.0 configurable product platform comprises pre-engineered products intended to provide the flexibility to meet customer needs and their functional requirements.

As part of the agreement, TechnipFMC will supply wellheads, tree systems, manifolds, controls, flexible jumpers and flying leads.

TechnipFMC Subsea president Jonathan Landes said: “Subsea 2.0 is field-proven technology, which reduces engineering complexity and shortens lead times. We are delighted to have the opportunity to support Chevron’s gas production needs under this long-term agreement.”

The company plans to manufacture the production systems at its Subsea 2.0 facility in Nusajaya, Malaysia.

Earlier this month, Chevron commissioned the Gorgon Stage 2 development project off the coast of Western Australia.

The Gorgon Stage 2 development project expands the subsea gas gathering network of the Gorgon Project located around 130km off the north-west coast of Western Australia.

Recently, TechnipFMC was selected by Woodside Energy to construct and install flexible pipes and umbilicals for the Julimar Phase 3 development, offshore Western Australia.

The contract scope includes engineering, procurement, construction and installation of the high-pressure, high-temperature flexible pipe and steel tube umbilicals for the project.
