Oceaneering International, through its Offshore Projects Group segment, has secured two contracts, worth more than $100m in total, for offshore projects.

A consortium including Oceaneering has been selected to support transportation and installation work on the Girassol Life Extension project in Block 17 offshore Angola.

Under the contract, the work scope includes air and saturation diving services, project management, engineering and procurement activities in support of the prime contractor’s recovery and replacement of 12 risers.

In addition to providing Angolan personnel for the project, Oceaneering will manage the in-country operations of the consortium.

Oceaneering said it plans to provide its services in various phases. This will start in late 2023 and continue until late 2025.

Furthermore, Oceaneering has been selected for work on a jumper installation project in the Stabroek block, offshore Guyana.

The company will be responsible for jumper and subsea field development installation and other associated work.

In July 2023, Reuters reported that Guyana’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) granted approval for an Exxon Mobil-led consortium to drill 35 new exploration and appraisal wells within the 6.6-million-acre Stabroek offshore block.

The consortium includes US oil company Hess and China’s China National Offshore Oil Corporation.

Oceaneering president and CEO Roderick A Larson said: “We are pleased to continue delivering quality offshore services to our expanding international client base. These awards substantiate our visibility into increased international activity, as cited in our recent second-quarter earnings release.

"Our success with these projects supports our belief in the resurgence of international offshore activity and market expectations over the next several years.”
